The Greek Internet Exchange, GR-IX, continues to grow its interconnected ecosystem with the addition of EuroVPS INFRA (ASN 212200) as its latest member.

The inclusion of EuroVPS INFRA strengthens the expanding GR-IX community, supporting enhanced connectivity, lower latency, and closer collaboration among network operators and technology providers.

GR-IX is the only neutral and independent Internet Exchange, with a mission to facilitate Internet traffic (IP) exchange and accelerate the growth of the Internet in Greece.

It is an important national infrastructure, as it connects the largest Internet companies in Greece, such as Internet service providers, content providers, and cloud service providers. GR-IX is owned by the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET S.A.), which, as a non-profit public company, guarantees the neutrality and independence of the Internet Exchange.

GR-IX was founded in 2009 as the successor to the Athens Internet Exchange (AIX), which had been operating since 1999.
