GR-IX, Digital Realty co-hosts of the 40th EuroIX Forum 

GRIX, the Greek Internet Exchange, owned and managed by The National Infrastructures for Research and Technology – GRNET, operating under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance, co-hosted with Digital Realty Greece, the 40th Euro-IX forum, taking place in Heraklion, Greece, on May 12-14, 2024.

The event was very successful in bringing the IXP community together, gathering 117 representatives from 41 IXPs from Europe and beyond! Participants with the support of the programme and administrative committee representatives engaged in fruitful discussions during workshops, technical and commercial sessions, as well as collaborative discussions.

This year’s Forum kick-started with a guided tour of the Knossos palace, and an IX-API workshop. The second and the third day of the Forum included many interesting technical, commercial and regulation sessions, lightning talks and collaborative discussions on topics of shared interest.

Overall, it was a very comprehensive event that not only gathered the community, but also supported the idea that through sharing best practices and expertise it is possible to develop, strengthen and improve the Internet Exchange Points.

The next EURO-IX Forum (41st)  will take place in Budapest, where all relevant stakeholders are expected to join the discussions and promote the IXP community’s work.
