GR-IX::Athens new platform

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully upgraded GR-IX::Athens platform. The new platform, is now fully operational and all our members have been migrated.

Our new platform is based in Juniper QFX10002-72Q, QFX10002-36Q & EX4600 switches in an evpn/vxlan setup. Members can connect to it using 1Gbps, 10Gbps or 100Gbps ports.

Moreover, we have upgraded the backbone capacity between ATH02 (LH) & ATH03 (TIS) using Nokia PSI-M solution.
The network architecture and the current capacity between each switch and PoP is shown below:

Many of our members have already upgraded their capacity to the new platform and some others are going to do so in the forthcoming weeks.

Currently we have more than twelve (12) 100Gbps ports connected and more than 1.7Tbps total capacity.

If you are interested in upgrading your capacity to GR-IX::Athens, please do get in touch with us.

Thank you for your continuous support to GR-IX, the neutral Internet Exchange in Greece.
